What are some signs a budgie is happy? :)?
I have had my friend Lazer the budgie parakeet for a bout 5 years and sadly I must say I havent been paying much attention to him as I use to when I first got him :( Yesterday I decided to treat him as he deserves to be treated cause he is an awesome creature. I went to pet smart and bought him new perches and new toys (still keeping some of his favorite :) ) What are some signs that he is happy? He seems to be “dancing” alot now haha but that might be because Im having him listen to budgies on youtube:)
Is this a cruel way to get my budgie to talk :P?
Im gonna get a budgie, and im thinking of recording my voice saying a few simple things, and leaving it play for an hour or so while im out of the house :P
Will he/she learn it? or will i find the poor gone instane lol?

Why won’t my new budgie play?
Some friends bought me a budgie from a local pet store after my previous budgie passed away after 10 years. I’ve had the new budgie, “Toby” for a month now and he is still very skittish and doesn’t play at all. He just sits all day in one spot and only moves to eat or if he gets scared. I think he is about 4-5 months old. I haven’t been able to finger tame him yet. He does let me stroke his feet but that’s all. He chirps quite a lot when I run the faucet and play music or if we are talking near his cage. My last budgie was very playful. I’ve tried many different toys hoping he would at least play with something, but nothing seems to entice him. Is this normal? What can I do to encourage him to play?

Does my solo cockatiel need a friend?
I’ve had a cockatiel for the past year and a half and we are very close but I’m afraid he gets lonely when I’m at work (I work 8 to 12 hour days.) He seems okay with the schedule as he’s remained a very health, loving bird. Still, I would like for him to have a companion, and I wouldn’t mind having another bird. I’ve been thinking about getting him a friend but I’m not sure how to go about doing this. Lucius is a pied cockatiel so I’m not even sure what sex he is, but he’s very very affectionate and not very sing-song-like so I suppose he’s a girl. Any suggestions? Could another bird help like a budgie or another cockatiel?

my budgie is a mute..! help..?
okay… so this is the same cute blue/yellow/white budgie… that does not have a name yet… i have had him for about a month… he is very sweet and cuddily… but he does not sing..! or talk or anything… like sometimes when i talk to him… he will sing and chrip a little bit… or once in a while when i play music… then he will… but other than ONCE IN A WHILE… he dont sing… what should i do to get him to sing and talk..?!?!?
((p.s. i have tryed playing bird noises on youtube and stuff too…it dont work…and i do repeat words and sounds over and over agian…doesnt work…))
